Spotlight Tuesday (6)

Spotlight Tuesday is a way to shed light on a specific book or author that you feel deserves a little attention/recognition.

This week's spotlight will shine on...

The year is 490 AD. Fiery 16-year-old Elaine of Ascolat, the daughter of one of King Arthur's supporters, lives with her father on Arthur's base camp, the sole girl in a militaristic world of men. Elaine's only girl companion is the mysterious Morgan, Arthur's older sister, but Elaine cannot tell Morgan her deepest secret: She is in love with Lancelot, Arthur's second-in-command. However, when yet another girl -- the lovely Gwynivere-- joins their world, Elaine is confronted with startling emotions of jealousy and rivalry. But can her love for Lancelot survive the birth of an empire?

I don't read much historical fiction but this is one book that makes me want to read more. Way more! I absolutely love this novel. For anyone interested in or familiar with the Arthurian Legend, or even if you're not, I guarantee that you will enjoy this book.
I loved it so much, I went out and bought Lisa's other novel, A Map of the Known World, as soon as it was released and though I haven't read it quite yet, I'm looking forward to it. And even though the two books are entirely different, I am pretty sure I'll love it.

You can purchase both of Lisa's books here. And if you're interested, visit Lisa's site for more information.

Have a great Tuesday!
